Lake Weissensee in Carinthia

Lake Weissensee in Carinthia with its crystal-clear waters is known as one of the best swimming lakes. The lake is 11.6 kilometres long and up to 900 metres wide and its deepest point is 99 metres. The following villages border the shores of the lake: Neusach, Techendorf, Gatschach, Naggl and Stockenboi. Only a third of the 23 kilometres of the lake’s shore is developed, the rest is under conservation and landscape protection.
